Pierre Bourdieu's Habitus
In addition to the concept proposed by Marcel Mauss, Bourdieu added the following points:
1. The importance of accumulated past
2. The importance of unconscious practice
In sociology before Bourdieu, it was interpreted that "humans first draw the purpose of their actions and use means to achieve it."
Therefore, Bourdieu pointed out the following:
The purpose should not be given priority just because it is a subjective factor.
In the first place, the purpose and means do not arise naturally.
Rather, the purpose and means arise from the accumulation of the past.
In other words, the purpose and means have the same factor, which is capital.
"For example, consider trying hard to enter a good university and get a good job in the university entrance exam. Bourdieu pointed out that this act is based on a vague sense of how much potential one has and where one is suitable for."
